According to German folklore, nutcrackers bring good luck to your family and protect your home. They represent power and strength and serve as a kind of ‘watchdog’ to guard your family against danger. A nutcracker bares its teeth to evil spirits and serves as a messenger of good luck and goodwill.
I originally drew this nutcracker back in 1993 inspired by Maurice Sendak who’s work has had a large influence on me since I was a little kid.
