This piece represents the Summer Solstice, the longest day and the shortest night of the year. The summer solstice, also known as Litha, marks the first day of Summer and symbolizes ascension and the rebirth or the return of the light. It is a time to release old, dark energy and reflect on what is in and out of alignment. This piece was inspired by my work on the “Wheel of the Year” and incorporates several of the symbols of the eight festivals of the year. It has a companion piece representing the Winter Solstice titled “Moon”.
